Instantly kills one enemy regardless of how much HP it has.

Appearances

Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake

Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, it is used by Heyedras, as well as Mimics, Silhouettes, and Umbras once again, costing 7 MP to cast for the first time since III.

Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake

Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, it is learned by Caradoc at level 20. It costs 7 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Nekomancer, as well as Heyedras, Voodoogooders, Mimics, Umbras, and Silhouettes once again.

Dragon Quest III

Making its debut, it is learned by Priests and Sages at level 22, being useful for defeating monsters like King squids, Squidzillas, Tentaculars, and Wyrtles. It costs 7 MP to cast, and is used by Silhouettes and Umbras, as well as Mimics from the SNES remake onwards and Voodoogooders and Dying Fires in the HD-2D Remake.

Dragon Quest IV

Acting the same as in III, it is learned by Kiryl at level 18, whose AI in the NES original will always cast the spell, as well as Thwack, against bosses. It costs 4 MP to cast, and is used by Hoodoo gooroos, Blizzybodies, Princes of darkness, Terrornodons, Pandora's boxes, and Mimics in the remakes once again.

Dragon Quest V

Acting the same as in its last 2 appearances, it is learned by Sancho at level 28, Debora at level 19 from the DS remake onwards, Orc kings and Samiginas at level 6, Goodybags at level 5, and Blizzybodies at level 16. The hit rate for the spell is higher than Thwack for human party members, but has the same hit rate just like Thwack for monsters It costs 4 MP to cast once again, and is used by Canniboxes, Urnexpectedes, Hypothermions and Morphean molluscs in battle.

Dragon Quest VI

Acting the same as in its last 3 appearances, it is learned by Nevan at level 21, while other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 5 of the Priest vocation. It costs 4 MP to cast once again and is also used by Mudslingers, Frighturns, and Mimics from the Mobile remakes onwards, as well as Canniboxes and Urnexpecteds once again.

Dragon Quest VII

Acting the same as in previous appearances, it can only be learned by advancing to Rank 6 of the Mimic and by mastering the Goodybag. It costs 4 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Goodybags, Mimics, Grimoires, Hexicons, Vial creatures, and the Wrecktor in Nottagen. In the game's Reimagined remake, it is learned by advancing to Proficiency Rank 7 of the Priest vocation. It costs 5 MP to cast for the first time since Rivals, and is used by Marshal Lourgh, as well as Hypothermions once again.

Dragon Quest VIII

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Angelo at level 17. It costs 4 MP to cast once again, and is used by Riptides, Hipsters, and Killer croakers, as well as Mimics once again.

Dragon Quest IX

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Priests at level 20, and is dependent on the caster's Magical Mending, meaning that once the stat reaches 50, it will slowly increase the base accuracy of 50% until it reaches 999, where the spell will be 100% accurate barring resistance. It costs 5 MP to cast, and is also used by Pandora's boxes, as well as Canniboxes, Mimics, and Riptides once again.

In a nostalgic move paying homage to an unlucky priest, Psaro the Manslayer will cast the spell in his legacy battle until it is replaced by Thwack.

Dragon Quest X

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Priests at level 45 and Demon Swordsmen at level 55. It costs 5 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Snowbirds, Wight priests, Pandora's chests, Mean spirits, Hell's stewards, Murderous grudges, and the Zeno Dragon, as well as Canniboxes, Terrornodons, and Mimics once again. In the Offline version of the game, it is learned by the Hero in the Priest vocation at level 45 and is already learned by Prince Laguas when he joins the party.

Dragon Quest XI

Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Rab at level 23 and Serena at level 24, having a base accuracy of 50% barring resistance and is dependent on the caster's Magical Might or Magical Mending depending on the game's 2D Mode or 3D Mode. It costs 5 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Pteranodons, Colossal canniboxes, Whackolytes, Hardy hands, and a Leger-de-man in Baramos's Castle, as well as Canniboxes, Hypothermions, Blizzybodies, and Snowbirds once again.

Dragon Warrior Monsters

Called Beat in this game, it requires a monster to reach level 16 with at least 58 MP and 76 Intelligence. It grows into Defeat when the monster reaches level 24 with at least 80 MP and 98 Intelligence. It is naturally learned by the blizzardy, deadnoble, evilpot, gophecada, metaly, Mimic and mudron.

Dragon Warrior Monsters 2

Beat now requires 137 Intelligence to learn and 177 Intelligence to upgrade. It is naturally learned by the darkmate, devipine, niterich, pompombom and skulpent.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart

Still called Beat, this skill can be used by Metal slimes, Metal king slimes, snomes, unicorns, infergons, blizzardys, Orochi, cergainas, gophecada, Mimics, dead maskers, death gods, vampire rats, pompom bombs, Shadows, night liches, blizzards, dark spirits and gisvargs.

Whack can be learned from all the skills it could be previously, though Diabolist now requires 70 points, and Muspell now requires 42 points.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince

Whack costs 9 MP and it's base 20% success chance rises to 40% at wisdom. It is learned through the Assassin, Blighter, Cheesy Grin, Chilly Receptionist, Dark Artist, Demoniac, Graveheart, Hexcommunicator, Martyr, and Stinker talents.

Dragon Quest Heroes

Whack can be learned by Kiryl for 4 skill points and costs 5 MP to cast, being one of his iconic spells, naturally. When used, Kiryl will send out a dark incantation that tracks down a random monster and has a small chance to kill them instantly. Kiryl can upgrade the spell and cast Thwack by charging up Whack for a few seconds.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The Hero can cast Whack through his Command Selection ability. The spell costs 10 MP to cast and will send a purple orb forward horizontally. Contact with an opponent will result in either 1% damage being dealt or the foe dying on the spot, depending on a random chance that scales with how high that character's damage percentage is upon connecting with the projectile.
