Deceleratle returns after several years as an enemy-exclusive spell used by Skippers. Interestingly, a resistance tag for the spell still exists in the game's code even though enemies can only be affected by it if it is reflected with Bounce. It costs 3 MP to cast for the first time since III.
- In the 3DS version of VIII, Red has an innate resistance to the spell.
Dragon Quest IX
Learned by Armamentalists at level 24, it reduces 1 enemy group's agility by 25%, capping at 50%. The spell's base accuracy is 50% before resistance is applied, and will reach 100% accuracy when the caster's Magical might reaches 799. It costs 5 MP to cast, and is also used by Grim reapers and the Ragin' Contagion, as well as Rampages once again.
Dragon Quest X
Learned by Thieves at level 13 and by investing 3 skill points into a recruited monster's Jakutai skill tree after its 3rd reincarnation, it increases enemies' action interval by 1 level each, instead of lowering their agility. It costs 4 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Bony Bats, Direlogs, Hellbound horrors, Blue moons, Polar pollies, Blue minxes, Tubby drackies, Knights of the white rose, Antiquitrees, Scarabuggers, Araniad, Gejura, Darkness of Envy, and Knights, as well as Bags o' Laughs for the first time since III. It is also used in Slurpodrome to decrease the agility of rival slimes for a certain period of time and costs 5 MP to cast just like in IX. In the Offline version of the game, it is learned at level 13 once again by the Hero in the Thief vocation and by Distan at level 22, once again lowering 1 group of enemies's agility just like in previous games.
Dragon Quest XI
Veronica and Sylvando learn this spell at levels 17 and 19 respectively. It is nerfed from IX, being able to lower agility of a group of enemies by 1 level. It costs 4 MP to cast once again and is also used by Midnight horknights, Grim gryphons, Drohl drones gone Malicious, Succubats gone Vicious, Alizarin, his stronger counterpart, Calasmos, and the End of Time, as well as Hellbound Horrors and Bags o' Laughs once again.
