Snub is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series.

Description

Nullifies all spells cast on one party member and/or the caster for the next seven turns.

Appearances

Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake

Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, it is learned by the Hero after obtaining a scroll in the Faerie Village and costs 6 MP to cast.

Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake

Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, it is learned by Peronel after obtaining a scroll from a Magic key chest in Rimuldar's inn and costs 6 MP to cast once again. If used alongside the Soul Sigil, it becomes the Souped-Up Skill Wave of Relief.

Dragon Quest IV

Making its debut, it is learned by the Chosen at level 19, and is useful for bosses that heavily rely on spells. It costs 2 MP to cast, and is also used by King slimes, Grim keepers, and Vis magers.

Dragon Quest X

Returning after a 6 game hiatus, it is learned by the Sage vocation at level 40 and Guardians at level 102. From this game onwards, it can only protect the caster. Players can only disable it once, but can disable it as many times as they want from 3.1 onwards. It costs 4 MP to cast, and is also used by Jinksters, Snooty slime knights, and Alvin. In the Offline version, it is learned by the Hero in the Sage vocation at level 40, but cannot be learned by any of the party members.

Dragon Quest XI

Now an enemy only spell, it is used by Pandora's boxes, Crystalotls, Pandora's big bad boxes, and Mordegon, as well as King Slimes and Snooty Slime Knights once again, but otherwise acts the same as in X.

Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Series

Reappearing from Battle Road II onwards, it acts just like Magic Barrier in nullifying enemy spells and is cast by scanning the Solo SP card.

Dragon Quest of the Stars

Acting the same as in IV, it is learned by Astronomers.

Dragon Quest Tact

Acting the same as in Of the Stars, it is learned by Solo via his Character Builder and costs 107 MP to cast, while upgrading the spell reduces its MP cost.
