Kazing is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series.
Description
This spell always succeeds at resurrecting a dead party member, though the amount of HP restored to the fallen character varies from game to game.
Appearances
Dragon Quest II
Making its debut, it is learned by the Prince of Cannock at Level 25 (Level 37 in the HD-2D Remake) and can also be learned by the Princess of Moonbrooke at Level 22 in the remakes (Level 41 in the HD-2D Remake), reviving a dead party member but only gives them 1 HP, while in the remakes, it can fully revive a dead party member. It costs 15 MP to cast (20 MP in the HD-2D Remake), and is also used by Wrecktors in battle, as well as Archbashops and Sinister Minister in the HD-2D Remake. If used alongside the Soul Sigil, it becomes the Souped-Up Skill Zingslinger.
Dragon Quest III
Learned by both Priests and Sages at Level 38, it can fully revive a dead party member from this game onwards. It costs 20 MP to cast, and is also used by Hocus-pokers and Abracadabrers in battle.
Dragon Quest IV
Acting the same as III, it is learned by Kiryl at level 33, and by Psaro at level 38. It costs 20 MP to cast once again in the NES version and 15 MP to cast once again in the remakes, and is also used by Abullddons in battle.
Dragon Quest V
Acting the same as in its last two appearances, it is learned by the Hero's Son at level 27, Barbatos at level 8, Conkuisitors at level 50, Cureslimes at level 23, Epipanys at level 40, Hades helms at level 40, King cureslimes at level 10, King slimes at level 15, and Orc kings at level 11. It costs 20 MP to cast once again, and is used by Wrecktors once again.
Dragon Quest VI
Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is learned by Curie at level 17, Kingsley at level 20, and by Lizzie at level 25, while other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 6 of the Sage vocation. It costs 20 MP to cast once again and is also used by Water wraiths, Hirsute hexers, Loss leaders, Demon overlords, Blackmar, and Mortamor's Left Claw in battle.
Dragon Quest VII
Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned at rank 6 of the Sage and Champion vocations, rank 3 of the Druid vocation (3DS only), rank 3 (PSX) or 4 (3DS) of the Hero vocation, as well as the Black bishop (rank 2) and Platinum king jewel (rank 4) monster vocations. It costs 15 MP to cast for the first time since II, and is also used by Vis magers, Hirsute hexers, and Mossferatu in battle. In the Reimagined remake, it is learned by advancing to Proficiency Rank 4 of the Sage vocation and Proficiency Rank 5 of the Hero vocation, acting the same as in appearances from IX onwards. It costs 24 MP to cast for the first time since XI, and is also used by The Time Being.
Dragon Quest VIII
Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned by Angelo at level 34, and by investing 100 skill points into Jessica's Staff skill tree. It costs 15 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Fallen priests, Wight priests, and Dark moths in battle.
- In the 3DS version, Morrie is able to learn the spell by investing 88 skill points into his Passion skill tree, and is also used by Phoenixes in battle.
Dragon Quest IX
Only available to Sages at level 45, it acts mostly the same, but now revives a dead party member dependent on the user's Magical Mending stat. It costs 15 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Cobra cardinals and Slugly betsies, as well as Mortamor's Left Claw once again.
Dragon Quest X
Acting the same as in IX, it is learned by Sages at level 65, Hermits at level 113, and by investing 70 skill points into a Druid's Wand skill tree from the latter half of 5.5 onwards. It costs 15 MP to cast once again, and is also used by Forest peckerels, Evil sorcerers, Orc queens, Archbashops, Returner moas, Guardian Angels, Devil Enraja, Mage Killgill, Momo during Mitron's boss fight, the Pharaoh's left hand, and Strong Muccino, as well as Wrecktors and Wight Priests once again. In the Offline version of the game, it is learned by the Hero in the same vocation at the same level, Fuura at level 65, Prince Laguas at level 48, and Anlucia at level 77.
Dragon Quest XI
Acting the same as in IX and X, it is learned by Serena at level 45, Rab at level 55, investing 20 skill points into Hendrik's Fraternity Character Builder, and by the Hero at level 62. It costs 24 MP to cast, and is also used by Wight princes, Wight kings, Grey gordons, Red giants, and Orc kings gone Malicious, as well as Archbashops, Abracadabers, and Wrecktors and Hocus-Pokers gone Malicious once again.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Kazing can be learned from:

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2
Kazing can be learned from all the skills it could be previously, though the point requirement for Über Healer has changed. It can now be learned from:
- Dual duellers (33 points)
- Sage (49 points)
- Über Healer (56 points)
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince
Kazing costs 80 MP but will always revive the target, restoring 10% of the maximum HP at a minimum before reaching 50% at 1,999 Wisdom. It is learned through the Healer, Mystic, Strong Speller, and Supreme Healer talents.

Dragon Quest Champions
Acting the same as in previous appearances once again, it is learned at level 20 when wielding the Dark dragon spear and costs 70 MP to cast.
