Etymology
A riptide is a dangerous current that can carry unwary swimmers out into deep water; the choice of name is probably a hint at this monster's propensity for ripping people up with its claws.
Trivia
- Riptide's hair looks almost identical to Bojack's, while Riptide itself bares a resemblance to Comfrey, two characters originating from the Dragon Ball franchise.
