Don Rodrigo is the father of Sylvando and a famous knight. He lives in Puerto Valor where he trains the new generations of knights, for example Hendrik when he was a teen. He is an old friend of Rab.

He is first mentioned by Rab during Act 1 after The Luminary and Jade escapes Hendrik and his horse Obsidian from some sort of danger, then when The Luminary and Jade goes back to Dundrasil, Rab suggests to go to Puerto Valor to find clues to get all the Orbs. When Rab mentions he is friends with Don Rodrigo, Sylvando grunts as of remembering his past with Don Rodrigo how he left his own home.

He is not seen until some time way after the events of Yggdrasil falling which was caused by a villain. He requests that Sylvando tries to take down Mordegon, but at post game, when you go back he will yell at Sylvando for refusing, but Sylvando requires assistance with killing Mordegon, so Don Rodrigo sets a trial for Hendrik and Sylvando to conquer which is the Tweedledoom and Tweedledeath quest. Then after finishing the quest which is at post game, go to Don Rodrigo's Villa at nighttime and then he'll tell you how his wife sadly passed away.
