The Timewyrm is a Superboss that was added into the Definitive Edition version of Dragon Quest XI. It can be fought after the player defeats End of Time and surpasses it in terms of difficulty. Defeating it grants you the Hare-raising suit and the Sands of Lost Time.

Characteristics

Timewyrm resembles a golden version of Mordegon and consists of its main body and the tail. Much like Grand Dragon and Valgirt Nedlog, both of them are golden dragon monsters who are the strongest bosses of their respective games.

Trivia

• Much like End of Time, it's a golden version of a main villain. Though unlike End of Time, he's not designed to test the heroes and is actually malevolent.
• Both it and Edahs 'Sohpix are superbosses who are stronger versions of their respective game's main antagonists. Timewyrm's bestiary entries even imply that they're from an alternate timeline where they succeeded in plunging the world into darkness and now intend to erase everything from existence.
• Timewyrm is one of the hardest superbosses in the series alongside Estark, Nokturnus, Ultimate Dragon, Greygnarl and Edahs 'Sohpix.
• Co-incidently Timewyrm, GranDragn and Valgirt Nedlog are all multiheaded gold dragons who are post-game bosses.
• Both Timewyrm and Arcane Dragon are similar in that both of them are dragon monsters who are the strongest bosses of their respective games, are palette swaps of dragon bosses (Arcane is a blue version of Omega Dragon while Timewyrm is a golden version of Mordragon), and can still wipe the floor with your party, even at Lv: 99. The difference being that Timewyrm was added to Dragon Quest XI's Switch remake whereas Arcane Dragon was already in Awakened Shadow.
