Flora is a recurring character from Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai and its animated adaptations. She's the queen of Carl kingdom, the home country of knighthood who battle against Hadlar's forces 15 years ago. She is also the secret love interest of Avan the former hero.
Appearance
Flora has a beautiful face with long blonde hair, cyan eye and light skin. She wears ornamental armor pieces on her shoulders and arms, adorned with a blue gemstone necklace and a purple cape under her royal gown.
During her younger days as a princess, she wears a pink royal dress with white gloves with two golden rings and white boots, cyan pearl necklace and a gold bracelet around her neck.
Personality
As the queen of Carl Kingdom, Flora is a great leader with nobility and gracefulness, carries herself with dignity royal upbringing as her people called her "the goddess of hope". She shows deep care for her people during the darkest time as she determined will do everything in her power to support the heroes to stop the dark army.
Much like Leona when she was a princess, Flora had the courage to face any threat to her kingdom like Hadlar’s forces, refusing to surrender to the dark lord and knew that the "sacrifice to the god of the underworld" was a cover of story to conquer Carl, showing her resilience and cleverness against her foes.
She also secretly falls in love with Avan, the hero who saved her life and the few people who knew his real potential to her which why she appointed him as the knight of Carl in the first place.

Flora is a skilled fighter who is a master of any kinds of weapons such as a sword and a whip that she uses to fight in battle. She also a spellcaster who can cast frizz-type spells and heal-type spells. She can even cast the Evac spell that can warp outside of dungeons.

- She was level 14 when Avan departed on his journey against dark lord Hadlar.
- She appeared in the "Avan, The Hero — Side Story" prequel bonus chapter before even being mentioned in the main storyline of the manga.
- In the same way Hadlar was based on the Dragonlord and Avan on the Hero of the original game,[1] she appears to be based on Princess Gwaelin (ローラ, Lora), even giving a pendant to the hero, like Gwaelin did with the Princess Pledge.
- She was 14 back then, the same age as Leona when the adventures of the young Hero Avan took place.
