The Ice shield is a recurring shield in the Dragon Quest series.

Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake
Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, it is found in a chest at the Cave of the Dwarves and a barrel in Weeping Isle. It can be equipped by the Hero, giving him a bonus of DEF +20, while protecting him from fire attacks and spells.
Dragon Quest VII
Making its debut, it is sold in Buccanham for 3,800 gold coins, and can be equipped by the Hero, Kiefer, Ruff, and Aishe, increasing their Defence by +24 and Style by +17, while cutting Frizz, Sizz, Bang, and Fire Breath damage by 20 points.
Dragon Quest VIII
The ice shield offers a defense bonus of +33. It can be equipped by the Hero or Angelo.
Recipe: Magic shield + Icicle dirk
The shield can also be purchased at Orkutsk for 8,500 Gold Coins and sold for 4,300.
