Magic water is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series that replenishes depleted MP inside and outside of battle. The amount it replenishes differs by game and it may not be use on a dead character.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
Restores at least 15 MP to a single ally. Consumed upon use. Sold for 600 G in various towns past Baharata.
Dragon Quest IV
In the original NES version of the game, sipping the scintillating water will restore 10~15 MP. In all other versions, it restores 30~35 MP and can be used on allies. Vials of Magic water can be purchased from Endor's Casino for 30 tokens each. They can also be dropped by bedbugs, flyguys, dirty dogus, mushroom mages, and dangler fish.

Dragon Quest V
The water restores 10~15 MP in all versions of the game. In remake versions of the game, it can be purchased from the shop on Ventuno's TnT Board for 120 G and sold for 60 G. They can be dropped by Prestidigitators, Legerdemen, Wisps-o'-smoke, Wizened wizards, Revaulting horses, Wyrtoises, Dwight, and Magmen.

Dragon Quest VI
When used in battle the water will restore the typical 10~15 MP, but while on the move it will restore 40~50 MP. Magic water appears once again as a Casino prize in Port Haven for 200 tokens each.

Dragon Quest VII
Similar to Dragon Quest IV, the vials will restore 10~15 in the original and 40~50 in the Nintendo 3DS remake. Once again, they can be purchased as a Casino prize at Pilgrim's Rest for 200 tokens each. It can also be won as a prize from the Lucky Panel starting from the Casino at Pilgrim's Rest in the present. In the original Sony PlayStation version, Magic water can be purchased from the Cathedral evolution of Immigrant Town for 200 G and sold for 100 G. They can also be dropped by clawcerers, shamen, conkjurers, and dirty dogus. In the 3DS version, they can also be found regularly in treasure chests and dropped by bosses in Traveller's Tablets. Dragon Quest VIII
Magic water has received a small boost to its potency, restoring 30~35 MP. However, the water is much more useful as an alchemy ingredient. It can be made in the Alchemy Pot, but it is not practical to do so as it requires Seeds of magic and Holy water. Magic water can be purchased from both Tryan Gully and the Dragovian Sanctuary for 300 G and sold for 150 G. They can also be purchased from the Casino in Pickham for 100 tokens each. It can be dropped by Crème caraslimes, Frostburns, Hellstalkers, Lost souls, Mud mannequins, Peepers, Phantom swordsmen, and Winkies. In the Nintendo 3DS version, vials of magic water can be found regularly in the blue treasure chests that can be found in the overworld. More vials can be found in:

Dragon Quest X
Magic water restores around 36 MP to a single ally. Once again, it can be purchased from various item shops for 500 G. It can also be received as a prize from playing Tombola, received after defeating bosses, or found in blue treasure chests. They can be made in the Alchemy Pot by combining 10 Single phials, which will produce a yield of 5 vials of magic water.
- In the Offline version of the game, it can be made in the Alchemy Pot by combining a Single phial, Royal soil, and Nectar.
Dragon Quest XI
Magic water will restore at least 30 MP to a single ally. In this game, it cannot be purchased from any shops, but can be sold for 250 G. Two vials can be found in a treasure chest in The Kingsbarrow and it can be picked up from a sparkly spot in The First Forest. Magic water can also be dropped by Prestidigitators, Drackolytes, Smackers, Lump mages, Very devils, Drohl diabolists, Wrecktors, Hocus-pokers, Vicious Sham hatwitches, Gold drohls, Malicious Little devils, malicious Drohl drones, malicious mud mannequins, malicious Wizened wizards, and Hellbound hunters.
Dragon Warrior Monsters
Known as Potion in this game, it restores 20~30 MP to a single monster. It can be picked up from the ground regularly in various Teleportals. Potions can also be purchased from the Bazaar for 200 G.
