Dragon Quest VIII

Magic beast hide is an ingredient for several pieces of leather equipment, like Leather armour, Leather dress, Leather kilt, Leather shield and Fur Poncho. It is also used for the powerful Timbrel of Tension. The hides cannot be bought and sell for 70g each.

Dragon Quest X

Magic beast hide is used as a material for crafting weapons and armour. It can be dropped by various monsters, including Ham shamwitches, Feralbeasts, Vampire cats, Great sabrecats, and Missing lynxes.

Dragon Quest XI

Magic beast hide can be purchased from the roving emporiums at the Laguna di Gondolia and the Dundrasil Region for 500 gold or picked up from a sparkly spot in the Dundrasil Region. It can also be dropped by Great sabrecats, Ursa minors, Spitzfires, Orc kings, Hat hamwitches, Ursa majors, and Dark sabrecubs. Pieces of magic beast hide can be found at Octagonia and Sniflheim. It is used to make the following items in the Fun-Size Forge: Fur poncho, Fur hood, Dapper doublet, Beastly bullwhip, Full moon collar, Choker of riddance, Bling-bling belt, Robber gloves, Caligae of clarity, Ogre shield and Brigand's mitts.

Dragon Quest Heroes

Magic beast hide can be dropped by Hammerhoods, Great sabrecats, and Hellions or received from King Flaminio in exchange for 5 Mini medals each. It can also be received as a reward for completing Showdown: Feral Feline with gold clear time or Grudge Match: Feral Feline with silver clear time from the second time onward. Magic beast hide can be used to create Sock-it lockets or the classic recipe for the Care ring in the Alchemy Pot or sold for 102 gold. Two scraps of magic beast hide, along with two Magic beast horns, are required to complete Quest #50: Scare Tactics.

Dragon Quest Heroes II

Magic beast hide is used as a material for improving various accessories or sold for 150 gold each. It can be dropped by Crack-billed platypunks, Archdemons, Missing lynxes, and Draguars.
