Magic Mirror is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series.
Appearances
Dragon Quest IX
Making its debut, it is learned by investing 40 skill points into the Shield skill tree. It costs 4 MP and when used, reflects enemy spells for several turns.
Dragon Quest Heroes
Appearing as a trait skill, it is learned by investing 5 skill points into Nera's skill tree, and repels enemy magic when she defends at the right time.
Dragon Quest Walk
Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is learned at level 10 when wielding the Dragovian shield and Large shield of sworn allies, level 8 when wielding the Hero's shield, Platinum platter, and Rune buckler, and already learned when wielding the Silver shield and Liquid metal shield, costing 15 MP to use.
Trivia
- This ability is essentially the same as the spell Bounce - it even has the same MP cost.
- Although shield skills are only available to the certain vocations (for example Minstrel or Warrior), anyone who can equip a shield can use Magic Mirror (i.e. A character with full shield skill can become a Martial Artist and still use a shield.)
