Appearances

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

Only appearing in the game's HD-2D Remake, it is learned by Thieves at level 33 and costs 8 MP to use.

Dragon Quest VI

Making its debut, it is learned by mastering the Ranger vocation. It only works once per use and only covers the user. In addition to repelling all fire and ice breaths, it can also reflect Pyre o' Fire, Tidal Wave, Magma Blast, and Big Banga. It costs 0 MP to use, and is also used by Deadly dodos, Low djinkses, High djinkses, Mortamor's Left Claw and Mechalomaniacs in battle. In the DS remake, it can repel Burning BreathPoison Breath, and Sweet Breath, but not Venom Mist, oddly enough.

Dragon Quest VII

Acting the same as in VI, it is learned by advancing to Rank 2 of the Pirate, Rank 7 of the Djinn genie, and Rank 3 of the Prism peacock. It costs 0 MP to use once again, and is used by Djinn genies in battle, as well as High djinkses once again. In the 3DS remake, it is also learned by advancing to Rank 3 of the Hero and Pirate vocations.

Dragon Quest X

Reappearing as an ability that is learned by recruited Chimaeras after investing 25 skill points into the Chimaera Flapping tree, recruited Small fries after investing 25 skill points into the Dragon Guts skill tree, and recruited Mecha-mynahs after investing 18 skill points into their Support skill tree. It covers all allies for 60 seconds and dissipates after the first hit, while costing 6 MP once again. In the Offline version of the game, it is already learned by Fura when she joins the party, and costs 7 MP to use.

Dragon Warrior Monsters

The skill reflects all fire and ice breath skills, status ailment breath skills, and Venom Mist for 6 MP. It requires the monster to be at least level 11, with 75 HP, 84 resilience, and 70 agility to learn. JamirusHell HornetRaven LunaticFirebirdPteranodon, and WingSlime all naturally learn the skill.

Dragon Warrior Monsters 2

Backdraft has the same aspects and learning requirements as before, and can also learned by High Djinks and KiteHawk, costing 6 MP to use once again.
