Etymology
Since the numeral 0 (zero) can be pronounced as "oh" in the English language, it is likely a clever reference to ozone. Ozone (O3) is the unstable allotrope of oxygen found in the Earth's upper atmosphere, serving as a protective shield against solar radiation.
