The Stonecloud is a flying contraption and the main base of operation for the heroes trying to save the kingdom of Arba in Dragon Quest Heroes. It was originally the royal Institute of Ingenuity of the city of Caliburgh, birthplace of the kingdom's most revolutionary and avant-guarde inventions, before being turned after years of work and research into a literal flying building by its head magic engineer Isla. Her masterpiece and pride and joy, the Stonecloud utilizes a cutting-edge magic generator powered by Yggdrasil's very own light energies to power itself and it is equipped with a few weapons for self-defense. The reserchers of the institude have since then become its crewmembers under the command of Isla, taking care of manuvering and steering the airship, as well as doing periodic maintenance check-ups to its complex internal machinery.

Having become the de-facto homebase for King Doric, his trusted bodyguards Luceus and Aurora, as well as for Healix, Isla herself and all of their allied otherworldly heroes while the kingdom below them was in chaos, the Stonecloud was also fitted with a weapon and amour shops, an alchemy laboratory, the mini medal trader King Flaminio, as well as a pub to unwind, a church of the Goddess, and a postal and quest offices from which requests for aid from the citizens could be inoltred to, becoming by all means a miniaturized citadel in its own right.
