A musk is a recurring item in Dragon Quest series.

Musk increases the frequency of random encounters. This can be useful for searching for metal monsters or obtaining item drops if you don't have access to Whistle.
Musk can be purchased for 150 G (and sold for 120 G) in:
- Dunplundrin
- Canalot
- Rosehill
- The Azimuth
- Immigrant Town (Stage Two-Four only)
They can also be occasionally dropped by:
